Preparatory School
Most children join the Preparatory School from the Secret Garden but places are usually available for children to join at other levels of their education. Children aged 7 to 13 years spend their time in the Prep School before transferring to some of the country’s top public schools.
We pride ourselves on excellence in all areas. A prep school education should be all about opportunity and the opportunities available to the students at Handcross Park are many and varied. We have a very good academic record but achieving excellence in Sport, Drama, Music, Art and Technology is also important to us. The curriculum consists of Mathematics, English, Science, French, Geography, History, Religious Studies, Personal Social and Health Education, Latin, Physical Education, Art, Music and Drama. All of which are taught by highly qualified and committed specialists.
Golf, drama, dance, enamelling, swimming, chess, scuba diving, horse riding and trampolining are only a few of the many extra activities taking place each week.
We believe the welfare of every child entrusted to us is our first priority and consequently operate an exceptional system of pastoral care. Children have their own personal tutor with whom they communicate on a daily basis.
